I've eaten with friends and colleagues in all these restaurants in (greater) Bangkok. I'm no food expert, but I do know what I like! Many of my older reviews were also published in Japanese on newsclip.be タイ発ニュース速報. Whether you're after Thai food, or craving a Mexican taco, Japanese buffet or fish & chips, you can find it all here.

* A friendly WARNING: restaurants close, change and move regularly, so before you go make sure to check *

Mee Ja Kin | มีจะกิน ****

My Thai friend’s favourite restaurant in Seaon Square is Mee Ja Kin, where they have an excellent and not expensive khanom jin (fresh rice noodles with side dishes) buffet.

The wooden furniture is made to look old, there are old Thai photos on the walls and there’s a video loop with old footage of hunters catching wild elephants for domestication.

For those that are not a fan of khanom jin like myself, there’s a small menu with a series of other dishes. My own favourite is kao kluk kapi, rice mixed with shrimp paste, wrapped in egg, served with small portions of raw onion, small pieces of meat, sausage, raw mano, green beans, cucumber, chile and fresh lime. Refills of trational Thai herbal juices are available, besides some regular drinks, and there’s ice cream for dessert.
