I've eaten with friends and colleagues in all these restaurants in (greater) Bangkok. I'm no food expert, but I do know what I like! Many of my older reviews were also published in Japanese on newsclip.be タイ発ニュース速報. Whether you're after Thai food, or craving a Mexican taco, Japanese buffet or fish & chips, you can find it all here.

* A friendly WARNING: restaurants close, change and move regularly, so before you go make sure to check *

El Mercado Bangkok ****

“Excellent import food, reasonable prices”

Originally an importer and distributor of fish, cheese, meat products, etc., now also a restaurant where their fresh food is served.

The house is old and charming, and there's a terrace outside. It's close to the MRT, now a bit dodgy, but an upcoming area.

Our fresh European mussels served with a huge bowl of french fries, tuna carpaccio, beet root salad and cheese plate were all excellent. The drinks list was long, the beers and wines cheaper than elsewhere. It was very crowded (reservation recommended), so the service was a bit slow, and the local staff was not very knowledgeable.
