I've eaten with friends and colleagues in all these restaurants in (greater) Bangkok. I'm no food expert, but I do know what I like! Many of my older reviews were also published in Japanese on newsclip.be タイ発ニュース速報. Whether you're after Thai food, or craving a Mexican taco, Japanese buffet or fish & chips, you can find it all here.

* A friendly WARNING: restaurants close, change and move regularly, so before you go make sure to check *

Soo Ra Gan @ Terminal 21 ***

Two old friends and their 2-year old met me at this conveniently located Korean barbecue restaurant in Terminal 21 shopping mall.

With its stone floor, wooden furniture and sparse decoration the style is quite minimalist and spacey. The kid was lucky it was around Christmas when there were at least some colourful decorations in place. There are regular dining tables and chairs as well as the lower sit-on-a-mat-on-the-ground version.

Being a barbecue restaurant every table of course features a built-in barbecue on which the personnel will prepare your food. You
don't have to do anything yourself but eat it.

We ordered a set with some extras, and got shrimp, 3 types of meat and delicious huge mushrooms for the barbecue, together with of course a good kimchi, various other pickled and raw vegetables and sauces, an excellent pumpkin soup,  another vegetable soup, a bowl of rice topped with vegetables, shrimp and egg, and a cold and tasty noodle soup. For drinks we had some fresh fruit juices and hot tea.

The service was friendly but not very fast, and we sometimes had trouble attracting the attention of the (not so busy) waiters. They did give us an extra pumpkin soup for the little girl for free though.
