I've eaten with friends and colleagues in all these restaurants in (greater) Bangkok. I'm no food expert, but I do know what I like! Many of my older reviews were also published in Japanese on newsclip.be タイ発ニュース速報. Whether you're after Thai food, or craving a Mexican taco, Japanese buffet or fish & chips, you can find it all here.

* A friendly WARNING: restaurants close, change and move regularly, so before you go make sure to check *

Yen Ta Fo (เย็นตาโฟ)

Star full.svgStar full.svgStar full.svgStar empty.svgStar empty.svg A chain of around 15 suburban restaurants named after its signature dish yen ta fo, a pink seafood noodle soup variety. We visited the branch at Piyarom, a typical modern Thai square lined with beautiful frangipani trees, tucked away in a row of modern shop houses opposite Starbucks.

The restaurant is decorated in Thai-Chinese style with lots of reds and golds, the mandatory aquarium, marble and wooden furniture, and knickknacks everywhere. A little table outside

Tuba Design Furniture and Restaurant ★

Star full.svgStar full.svgStar full.svgStar full.svgStar half.svg Looking for an interesting place to have my birthday dinner, my friends and I ended up at this very special restaurant called Tuba.

By day Tuba is a showroom and shop for vintage furniture, by night it turns into a very atmospheric dinner place. Sitting on classic furniture, paintings, statues and lots of knickknacks, and with soft lighting from the many 50ties lamps, it's a great place to sit down for a special dinner or an intimate drink

Robin Hood Pub

Star full.svgStar half.svgStar empty.svgStar empty.svgStar empty.svg Typical Irish pub near BTS Phrom Phong opposite Emporium shopping mall. Two floors, brown decor, good atmosphere, lots of newspapers, sports on big screens and pool table upstairs. There's a band playing some days, but not the night we visited. So far so good, but then we got to the food.

The nachos were burnt, the Greek salad was too oily (great feta though), the spare ribs were dry, the coleslaw was made with too much mayonnaise and the chips were double-fried.

As for our drinks, the draft Guinness was flat, but the rest of our beers (bottled cider, Tiger draft)
