Khao Tom Bowan (ข้าวต้มบวร)

Star full.svgStar full.svgStar full.svgStar full.svgStar empty.svg After a night out some friends took me for a midnight meal at this restaurant near Wat Bowonniwet, where it has been serving its famous khao tom or rice porridge for over 60 years.

The place is a typical open Thai restaurant, its roof covered but the walls partially open to let the fresh air in, and with the ceilings fans on it's usually cool enough. The light stainless steel tables and chairs seat up to 6, but can also be combined to cater for much bigger groups. The lights are bright, so it's not suitable for a romantic dinner.

Its main fare is khao tom, rice porridge, which is always served with a choice
