I've eaten with friends and colleagues in all these restaurants in (greater) Bangkok. I'm no food expert, but I do know what I like! Many of my older reviews were also published in Japanese on newsclip.be タイ発ニュース速報. Whether you're after Thai food, or craving a Mexican taco, Japanese buffet or fish & chips, you can find it all here. (2016: I'm adding my Tripadvisor reviews here)

* A friendly WARNING: restaurants close, change and move regularly, so before you go make sure to check *

Tuba Design Furniture and Restaurant ★

Star full.svgStar full.svgStar full.svgStar full.svgStar half.svg Looking for an interesting place to have my birthday dinner, my friends and I ended up at this very special restaurant called Tuba.

By day Tuba is a showroom and shop for vintage furniture, by night it turns into a very atmospheric dinner place. Sitting on classic furniture, paintings, statues and lots of knickknacks, and with soft lighting from the many 50ties lamps, it's a great place to sit down for a special dinner or an intimate drink
with friends.

The food is a mix of Western and Thai food, and every single dish we ordered, from cheesy bread, chicken wings, Caesar salad, spinach with mozzarella, and mushroom sauté to sautéed mussels (the best!) and the lemongrass chicken, was delicious! Many more dishes to try on the menu, so we'll definitely be back for more. We topped off the meal with some homemade cakes from the dessert menu. Most dishes are between 100 and 200 baht.

There's a wide choice of drinks too, including enormous cocktails, but we settled for draft beer and ginger ale. From 5 to 8 p.m. it's happy hour, where the drinks go for half price.

Service was friendly and professional, and the drinks appeared fast.

One plus (or minus) is that smoking is allowed.

Unfortunately no more homemade cakes available; dessert is now limited to fresh fruit.
